Fundamental Incident Management Course,
based on the U.S. NIMS ICS 100 and 200 curricula

The Incident Management System (IMS) is an internationally-recognized model for planning, controlling, and coordination of single and multi-agency crisis management and emergency responders.  IMS has been proven effective for managing a variety of situations, both everyday events and critical incidents including:  school crisis management, dangerous goods (HAZMAT) incidents, natural disasters, fire, event pre-planning, facility emergencies and many others.

The Signet North America Fundamental Incident Management educational course is 3-days of high-energy, interactive and informative education designed to take the attendee through a wide range of crisis management issues including:

•	Regulatory background and issues surrounding crisis and incident management
•	Emergency response plans
•	Crisis planning for schools and facilities
•	Incident communications
•	Chemical information resources
•	Hazard and risk analysis
•	Features of the Incident Command System (ICS)
•	Organizational communication & management
•	Management by objectives
•	Incident and resource typing
•	Transfer of command

The Incident Management educational course is based on a number of recognized standards, including:  the U.S. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), National Incident Management System (NIMS) curricula, including ICS-0100 and ICS-0200; the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training standard for on-scene Incident Commander contained in 29 CFR 1910.120 (q)(6)(v); selected standards from the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 472); and, local provincial standards and regulations.

Upon completion of the Incident Management educational course, the attendee will receive a certificate of completion from Signet North America.  The attendee will also be well-prepared to apply for additional certification offered by the FEMA Emergency Management Institute.
