SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Rope rescue is the foundation of any technical rescue program. Rope Rescue Level 1 will prepare students to work efficiently and effectively in a high-angle environment. This extensively hands on course is designed to familiarize students with the proper use of life safety rope and ancillary equipment for emergency rescue. Students will learn such practical skills as rappelling, self rescue, pick off techniques, rope ascension, simple lowering and raising systems, simple anchors, stokes basket rigging, and proper harness usage. Upon completion of this three (3) day course students will also have an understanding of the International System of Units, force multipliers, mechanical advantage, vectoring and the principals of pre-rigging systems. This course is not designed to be an inclusive OSHA Fall Protection train-the-trainer course.

PREREQUISITES:
Previous training in First Aid and CPR
Previous training in respiratory protection
Hazardous Material Awareness
