Signet's Firefighter Type 1 Training, S-131, is designed to meet the training needs
of the Firefighter Type 1 (FFT1). This course is designed to be interactive in nature while training new and existing firefighters in Wildland Firefighting skill.
GOALS:
The goal of this Signet North America S-131 Wildland Firefighting course is to provide a high-energy, interactive and informative educational experience designed to take the attendee through a wide range of subject matter, inlcluding, but not limited to Fire Suppression, Basic Fire Behavior, Fire Weather, and Wildland Safety and Survival. Upon conclusion, the student will be able to:
Demonstrate the ability to use fireline reference tools to facilitate the communication and
decision making processes.
Describe how to incorporate and maintain open lines of communication with appropriate
personnel.
Demonstrate the ability to apply the standard operating procedures found in the Incident Response Pocket Guide (PMS 461).
Demonstrate the ability to apply information found in the Fireline Handbook (PMS 410-1).
